In Aberdeen I have:

  • Taken part in the community campaigns against the cuts to jobs and key services at Aberdeen City Council proposed by the SNP/Lib Dem administration
  • Campaigned against the school closure planes of the SNP and Liberals, from Torry to the Bridge of Don
  • Supported the former workers of Glencraft in their efforts to keep Glencraft open and save supported employment jobs
  • Campaigned for the Scottish Government to make improvements at the Haudagain Roundabout and highlighted their mismanagement of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route project
  • Supported the Prison Visiting Committee of Craiginches to keep a community prison in Aberdeen
  • Campaigned to put Aberdeen Crossrail back on the agenda after it was abandoned by the SNP
  • Highlighted the budget cuts at Grampian Police and called for more police on the beat and action on crime
  • Exposed the SNP for betraying their promises to the North East and failing to fund local services fairly

In Aberdeenshire I have:

  • Highlighted the SNP's delays in building badly needed new schools in Aberdeenshire which were on course with Labour
  • Campaigned successfully to retain the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board and against SNP plans to privatise local forests
  • Worked with the National Farmers Union locally to promote local food and a better deal for local producers
  • Successfully campaigned to retain fishing courses at Banff and Buchan College
  • Campaigned for better rail services, including the new station and Laurencekirk and for another new station at Kintore
  • Opposed plans to close local sheriff courts and restrict access to justice in the area
  • Campaigned for more action in Aberdeenshire to prevent flooding

In Angus and Dundee I have:

  • Campaigned for more investment in the local life sciences industry and research in Dundee
  • Worked with Tayside Police in highlighting the dangers of 'legal highs'
  • Lobbied the Scottish Government to support the Montrose Port redevelopment proposals
  • Worked with the local coastguard and Tayside Police to highlight the dangers of "tombstoning" to young people
  • Campaigned for better security measures in the open prison estate at Castle Huntly and Noranside
